New line opens in Scotland

Craigemains Home & Garden Centre opened a 10Viin gauge line at Ballantrae, Girvan, South Ayrshire, at the end of last year. The first passengers were carried on November 24 with a grand opening on December 15 A 300yd circuit has been laid using stock from the Ayr Miniature Railway, which used to run on Ayr promenade until the line closed in 1998. It has been stored since then, but the track has now been laid at the garden centre by Cromar White.
