Collett Large Prairie No. 4144 is on the verge of a return to steam after its boiler was lowered onto its frames on October 12. It will be the first time it has run since 2007. The2-6-2T5101has undergone a major boiler overhaul since August 2010, comprising the replacement of the lower outer firebox and the fitting of a new front tubeplate. The boiler has already successfully passed its out-of-frames hydraulic and steam tests and is set to start running in early 2015. It will carry green livery, but it has not been announced whether it will be GWR or British Railways style. No. 4144 is taking priority in the workshop ahead of 43XX No. 5322 (RM Aug), which cannot steam until'star fractures' in the firebox have been repaired.The front frame plates for the George the Fifth Steam Locomotive Trust's new-build LNWR 4-4-0 have been cut by Tata Steel, Wolverhampton. The plates will be delivered to Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire, where they will be stored with other components that are being collected for No. 2013 Prince George -named after the recently born heir to the throne.
