Extended Telford tram line for 2015

Extension of the 2ft-gauge line at the Telford Steam Railway's Spring Village HQ into a complete circle has been completed. The line is worked by a vertical-boilered steam tram -built circa 1977 by Alan Keef Ltd for the Telford Development Corporation - which has been at Spring Village for 22 years. During 2014, the tram continued to use the old horseshoe-shaped track, as the turnout to the new full circuit was clamped out of use, but the full circuit was employed for passenger services for the first time during the TSR's 'Santa' operations and will be in full use during 2015. Its official opening will probably be held simultaneously with the opening of the TSR's standard gauge Lawley extension. Narrow gauge equipment at the site now also includes Ruston 30DL 339209/1952 and Ruston Hornsby 20DC 222101/1944.
