Plans laid for new West Hampstead station

Proposals for a new Overground station building at West Hampstead have been submitted to planners at Camden Council. The site lies on West End Lane, between West Hampstead Thameslink and West Hampstead Underground stations. The proposed new structure will be five times the size of the current building, have extra ticket barriers, and the narrow platforms will be widened. The station currently handles 3.6million passengers a year and the new building will ensure it can cope with predicted growth on the Overground network.
