A NEW type of flexible season ticket was introduced on June 28,aimed at commuters mixing home and office-based working.The idea is to give a third option between buying individual day tickets or full-week seasons. An online calculator has also been launched on the National Rail website to help passengers work out their best ticket option.The paperless tickets allow travel on any eight days in a 28-day period, with no need to select the days of travel in advance.The Department for Transport said analysis shows that two and three day-a-week commuters buying new flexible season tickets could make substantial annual savings when compared to the cost of daily tickets.
