FITS TO A 'T'

An ongoing evaluation of successful training is essential. In an effort to become a better trainer, it's imperative that we constantly look for a better mousetrap. I believe that I have found one in the Tactical T. As trainers, we have lectured and trained our officers how to use the Tactical L Maneuver. This maneuver is typically used when an officer is faced with a rapidly approaching adversary and the officer must get "off the train tracks." By sidestepping to either the left or right while backtracking, the officer can draw the weapon he needs for the situation. In theory, the attacker finds it more difficult to follow the officer in a 90-degree turn instead of straight back. Despite it's effectiveness, this response does have its limitations.
