Student Chapter Program bridging the gap between students and professionals

Winning the 2012 Undergraduate Student Paper Competition exposed Nelya Meystelman to more than she could have imagined when she first entered the competition. Presenting her paper, "Kinetics and Microbial Observatory for Enhanced Biological Phosphorus Removal Process" at NEWEAs Annual Conference and WEFTEC, Meystelman witnessed a community of professionals who shared professional interests very similar to hers. That exposure led her to revive NEWEAs student chapter at Northeastern University in Boston-one of two NEWEA student chapters, along with Wentworth Institute of Technology-when she returned to school.
