BC Ferries cleans up with Hydroxyl

Two Canadian marine companies have linked up to enable wastewater purification onboard three vessels operating along the coast of British Columbia. Hydroxyl Systems Inc was due to deliver its CleanSea Oxidation advanced wastewater purification systems to BC Ferries by mid-March 2008. The units will treat black and grey water onboard the 2100-passenger Spirit of British Columbia, 1340-passenger Queen of New Westminster, and the 600 passenger capacity Northern Adventure. Implementation of the technology is claimed to reduce the environmental impact of effluent discharge.
