Having delivered 21 FPB 98 Mkl patrol craft to the Algerian Coast Guard, French boat builder OCEA recently secured more export orders for the design and has been awarded orders for three units for the Benin Navy and, it is thought, four units for Senegal. Best known as a yacht builder, OCEA also offers a complete range of customised small-and medium-sized aluminium hulled platforms. These platforms include: a high-speed, shallow draft craft for riverine and harbour patrol, in three designs ranging in size from 5.5m to 9.8m; fast patrol boats ranging in size from 13m to 26.5m for inshore patrol; and larger patrol boats of 31.8m to 58m for patrol of the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
