Fourth and final XLE for Maersk

Maersk Drilling commenced 2017 by taking delivery of the 90.5m Maersk Invincible - the fourth and final unit in the operator's series of XL Enhanced (XLE) jack-up rigs. Speaking in late 2016, Claus Hemmingsen, group vice chief executive, Maersk Drilling, described the completion of Maersk Invincible as "the end of a newbuilding era for Maersk Drilling". Hemmingsen added: "[She] will be the final XLE rig to enter our fleet. These highly advanced drilling rigs enable us to provide safe and efficient drilling operations to our customers on the Norwegian market."
