DNV takes lead in CNG ships

DNV Korea & Japan has taken the initiative to introduce its compressed natural gas (CNG) technology to major shipbuilders which DNV claims as a first among the classification societies in introducing such technology. Major Korean shipbuilders and Korea's biggest steel producer POSCO were present at a recent DNV seminar on CNG carriers at which the classification society presented its concept of CNG carriers and the application of CNG carrier designs.
