Waertsilae powers Chinese semisub heavy-lift vessel

Waertsilae has signed a contract to deliver a ship power system for a 38,000 tonne semi-submersible heavy-lift vessel for privately owned Chinese customer Zhejiang Share.rnThe newbuilding will operate globally in offshore waters, and will be mainly used in loading and transporting large-size equipment required by the offshore oil and gas industry. Such equipment includes large-size steel structures, various kinds of platforms, platform jackets, and main platform blocks used in prospecting and exploration. The vessel will assist large commercial ships and naval vessels in refloating and similar operations.
