As I reflect on the past year, I am amazed at how our Society has faced the pandemic. In what could have been a devastating year for the organization, SAME rose to the challenge. The National Office team quickly pivoted to an interactive, virtual format to retain and then enhance the market-research aspects of JETC, SBC, and other events. Our members, both public and private, attended these online offerings, stayed engaged, and advanced industry-government engagement. Posts and Communities of Interest sustained, even increased, participation by delivering more programming and leveraging technology to reach more members. A very successful inaugural fundraising campaign for the SAME Foundation demonstrated the continued belief in the strong leader development opportunities we provide to young professionals who are the future of our Society and our profession. And our advertisers, exhibitors, sponsors, and stakeholders stood by us and believed in our mission to "build leaders and lead collaboration among government and industry to develop multidisciplined solutions to national security infrastructure challenges."
