Army Sustainability: Sustain The Mission, Secure The Future

The release of the U.S. Army Sustainability Report 2007 marks an important milestone on a journey started in 2004, when the Army issued the Army Strategy for the Environment (ASE). Through this strategy, Army leadership challenged the entire Army to incorporate the "triple bottom line" of mission, environment and community into all plans, processes and actions. The Army leadership remains committed to achieving the following goals, outlined in the ASE: 1. foster a sustainability ethic; 2. meet test, training and mission requirements; 3. strengthen Army operations; 4. minimize impacts and total ownership costs; 5. enhance well-being; and 6. drive innovation.
