Engineer officers in the U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps have long been instructed on the importance of professional registration to their service to the nation. The U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) has long held professional registration for engineers and architects as a requisite credential for individual officers and, collectively, for CEC. Not only does the process of study and examination produce a more professionally astute officer, it also raises the bar of competence for the entire community of officers and the professional civilian workforce they serve with and lead.
