BALPA gives oral evidence on Civil Aviation Bill

With legislative log-jam at the Lords end of the Palace of Westminster, and with MPs twiddling their thumbs waiting for the Queen's Speech (due in May) at the other, the Government spied an opportunity to get its Civil Aviation Bill through the Commons quickly. The Bill is chiefly concerned with economic regulation of airports, and gives the CAA more flexibility in choosing airports to regulate, and in what way.The Bill also contains changes to the CAA's governance and will devolve security implementation from the Department for Transport (DfT) to the Civil Aviation Authority.
