Nine out of 10 UK businesses are likely to experience year 2000 problems with their critical systems but only three out of 10 have a contingency plan in place to cope, according to research firm Gartner Group. This is confirmed by an Information Week survey which shows 88% of IT directors believe they will fix only 76% of their problems by 2000, and only a quarter have contingency plans.
