Dramatic developments

I think my first visit to China was back in 1990, two years after I launched The Canmaker. The Ministry Of Light Industry in China found out about the magazine very soon after its launch and was one of our first two dozen subscribers. rnNow, 20 years later, I am aware of just how important that one subscriber was. I have visited China on a number of occasions over the years and at the end of 2008 I returned to Guangzhou. rnAlthough I was expecting change even I was amazed at how much it had grown and prospered. Recently I have seen the speed of progress but here is one place that was distinct in my memory from nearly two decades ago and a fast forward to this huge bustling, vibrant metropolis in 2008 was amazing.
