Berkshire Brewing Company, based in South Deerfield, Massachusetts, has announced plans to launch its flagship Steel Rail Extra Pale Ale in 12oz cans. The craft brewer will initially can beer through a third-party, with plans to add its own canning equipment at a future date. Cans of Steel Rail will initially be sold in Massachusetts, before expanding to New England markets by the end of the year. It's the first time in the company's 19-year history it has packaged its beer in cans, with the brewer historically selling its brews in 22oz bombers, 64oz growlers (bottles) and kegs.
