Reports filed this week by a raft of AJ100 practices reveal the impact of tough trading conditions on the profession. Devereux Architects made a pre-tax loss of ￡1.9 million in the year ending 31 December 2011, mainly due to the closure of its North East offices. Ranked 49 in last year's AJ100, the company saw turnover fall 12 per cent from ￡5.8 million to ￡5.1 million.
