Optimum warp build up on a section warping machine drum begins with the precise positioning of the reed headstock to the cone. With the latest Benninger Ergotec unit this is achieved fully automatically and with the highest precision and the calculation of the reed headstock feed also follows fully automatically. During section build-up the evener roller ensures any yarn count variations and yarn volume changes do not cause any density variations for a uniform cylindrical build-up. The reversed rotation of the drum is important in respect of this, since the evener roller is able to act on the warp sheet at its winding-on point onto the drum, further guaranteeing the maximum levelling effect. As a result of the short distance between the measuring and evener rollers, section spread is practically negligible.
