The Hosiery Association is leading a coalition to help its members comply with legislation that has imposed tight controls on products containing lead.rnPresident Bush signed the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) last August, resulting inrnmandatory testing and certification of socks and hosiery items to show conformity with applicable consumer product safety standards.rnHowever, the THA believes these tests are expensive and onerous, and detract from the Consumer ProductrnSafety Commission's ability to focus on products that truly pose threats for US consumers.rnIn creating the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) Legwear Coalition, the Hosiery Associationrn(THA), together with The Hosiery Technology Center (HTC), will work with the federal legislature and the CPSC.
