HK to play a pivotal role in China, Taiwan trade

Tlextile materials, fabrics, and textile equipment shipped to Hong Kong directly from Taiwan and mainland China are eligible, starting January 1, 2011, for preferential tariff under an economic cooperation framework agreement called ECFA concluded between China and Taiwan. The agreement signed when the chairman of Taiwan's Straits Exchange Foundation, Chiang Pin-kung, visited China last June gives Hong Kong a pivotal role in fostering trade between the mainland and Taiwan as well bolstering Chinese and Taiwanese exports to other markets.
