Private Investment, Removal of Government Barriers Seen as Key to Investment in Developing Nations

The difficulties in expanding broadband access to developing areas are many, but panelists at the Internet Governance Forum in Athens, Ga., seem to agree that private investment is the best bet for sparking network deployment. The key to that effort is ensuring that regulatory agencies don't create barriers to entry and that as many supports as possible are in place to pay for the deployments, panelists said.
