ECF Application Window To Open June 29, Close Aug. 13

Schools and libraries can begin submitting applications for the FCC's $7.17 billion Emergency Connectivity Fund on June 29, acting FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel announced on June 15. The application window will close Aug. 13. Meanwhile, the FCC announced that it will hold a virtual webinar to provide information to potential applicants on June 25 at 2 p.m. EDT. Questions can be submitted in advance or during the event to ECFwebinar@ fcc.gov, and the webinar will be recorded and available for viewing later on the FCC's website. Funding from the ECF program established by the American Rescue Plan Act earlier this year can be used to purchase laptops and tablets, Wi-Fi hotspots, modems, routers, and broadband connections for off-campus use by students, school staff, and library patrons, the FCC noted.
