摘要

The objective of this paper is to study the flexural performance of reinforced concrete (RC) beams strengthened with externally bonded carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) fabrics under fatigue loadings, including load, which will produce high stress levels in the materials. The crack development and the stress change in the steel and the CFRP were monitored by strain gauges and fibre optic sensors in the process of the fatigue tests, and the failure mechanisms were compared with that of statically loaded similar beams. The behaviour of the S-N (cyclic stress versus numbers of cycle to failure) data from the current tests and the available technical literature is analysed and compared with existing fatigue design rules for un-strengthened RC beams using ACI 215 guidelines and AASHTO specifications.
