The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) stated on December 11 that a team of its experts have concluded an eight-day Integrated Review Service for Radioactive Waste and Spent Fuel Management, Decommissioning and Remediation (ARTEMIS) review mission to the Republic of Latvia. The team found that Latvia is committed to the safe and responsible management of radioactive waste and noted areas for improvement, including the need to further develop longterm management plans and associated costs.
