摘要

The opening paragraphs in Part 1 of this series [October 2004] established that actual testing for speech intelligibility must be conducted on a subjective basis. Tests conducted using real talkers and listeners in real rooms listening to syllables, words or sentences can be scored to determine the percentage properly understood. This type of subjective testing is tedious but, of course, superior to any objective measures created to anticipate, predict or correlate with the human response. I will focus here on the four most frequently cited.
