In our conversations with integrators both large and small all across the country, one question has risen to the top of the list in the past few years: "How and where do we find talent?" As most of you know, this isn't an easy question to answer. After all, if the answer were easy, the average integrator wouldn't have seven open positions at any given time and initiatives like NSCA's Ignite program wouldn't exist. Recruiting and retaining quality talent requires long-term commitments from not only your company's hiring manager and human-resources department, but also your entire organization. As the NSCA Education Foundation's Program Director, I've spent time helping integrators with everything from talent recruitment and student internships to career services and professional-development curriculum. Along the way, I've discovered a few realities that I want to share when it comes to finding and keeping quality candidates.
