Milking Solar Savings at Goat Lady Dairy

For almost 10 years, Steve Tate and his family have been raising goats and producing handmade farmstead cheese in the rolling hills south of Greensboro, N.C. With the milk from their herd of 60 goats and some additional milk purchased from other goat operations, Goat Lady Dairy produces 400 to 600 pounds of cheese each week from March to December. The award-winning cheese graces the table of local fine restaurants and the dairy's own monthly "Dinner at the Dairy," where guests enjoy a fresh organic meal of herbs and vegetables and clean-raised, local meats.
