Solar-powered carports were a hot topic of 2015. As a solution to meeting current governmental policy of moving away from large field-generation they offer an elegant solution to increasing the UK's solar generation. Yet with the exception of a few bespoke installations, the market has yet to coalesce. High cost, a lack of design imagination and a limited knowledge of installation complexities have created a lag in adoption. As an industry, addressing these issues is within our grasp if we act now.
