Continuous Testing with Ruby, Rails and JavaScript

This book is a brief opportunity for introducing Software Engineering (SE) notions like Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development, Design Patterns, Functional Programming, Metaprogramming etc., to a large category of web developers, pragmatic programmers using Ruby, Rails and JavaScript. Essentially, the authors are trying to mentor a new generation of programmers, introducing them to some of the current practices in SE, mediated by web development and Agile software development methodology. The book is organized in 2 main parts. First part is about Ruby development, while the second it is about Rails and JavaScript. The Continuous Testing (CT) is actually the testing process in the Continuous Integration agile method. In one of the appendix there is proposed a reorientation of JavaScript as a functional language. There are included a bibliography, a list of Ruby gems needed for running the code examples of the book and an index.
