CN Rail reopens train line connecting coal mine in British Columbia

CN Rail has reopened a rail line connecting to a mine owned by a Virginia Conservation Legacy Fund Inc. affiliate in British Columbia. Conuma Coal Resources Ltd. reopened the Wolverine mine early this year, but the rail spur had been shut down when operations at the mine stopped in 2014. Conuma began shipping coal by truck to its Willow Creek loadout facility nearly 100 miles away, but Canadian officials ordered the coal producer in July to stop because it did not have a permit to truck coal. Conuma said this occurred just a few days before it completed an order for a customer, and it had to meet the order with coal from its Brule mine instead.
