A Decade of Successes Completed, a Decade of Challenges Ahead

This is the first Journal issue focused on Audio in...well, I don't know how long. This past decade has seen huge changes in our industry. We've seen the completion of the swing from physically cutting magnetic tracks to editing on digital audio workstations, the change from 1/4 in. Nagras and DATs to digital hard-disk, RAM/SD and USB thumb-drive sound capture, and the two largest changes-the shift from analog over-the-air to digital TV broadcast and the long-anticipated implementation of Digital Cinema.rnSurely, with all this evolution, there can't be much left to talk about on the topic of audio, right? It turns out that there are still a few pesky old issues and some new ones that warrant our attention.
