Fighter-Sized Robot Takes to the Skies

The Phantom Ray unmanned airborne system (UAS) testbed for advanced technologies likely will be cruising the skies over battlefields in the near future. The newest developmental schedule calls for the aircraft to begin taxi tests this summer and to take off on its first official flight in December. During the first six months of 2011, as many as nine flights are planned.
