Sandia Manages the Data Deluge for National Security Analysts

A team of researchers at Sandia National Laboratories is working on a project called Pattern Analytics to Support High-Performance Exploitation and Reasoning, or PANTHER, which already has reported a number of breakthroughs that could help solve big data problems, officials say. One of PANTHER's feats includes pre-processing massive amounts of raw data to make it much easier to search and extract meaning. Additionally, deeper insights from complex data sets can be reached in minutes instead of months.
