Corridor Ⅹ through Serbia is a reality

The long-awaited and urgently needed Railway Corridor Ⅹ will be built this decade. This will complete Traffic Corridor X, as the road corridor has already been built. In recent years, Serbian railways' infrastructure has found itself in an increasingly difficult position. One reason for this is that the railway traffic has not been a state priority. The railway lost its attraction as a carrier of passengers and goods and road transportation took over. The condition of the rail infrastructure was such that the accuracy, reliability and traffic safety could not be fully achieved. It is imperative that the railway regains its status as an important means of public transportation in order for it to be able to follow the European railway strategies pertaining to the introduction of new technologies.
