Liverpool Pilot John Curry, who has been taking ships into the Port of Liverpool for over 37 years, describes the river Mersey from a pilot's perspective and explains how a pair of fully laden ACL container ships regularly perform a well choreographed manoeuvre in Liverpool's Royal Seaforth Dock, a piece of ship handling known locally as the ACL waltz.
