Van Gogh for Salamis

Cypriot operator salamis Tours has acquired the laid-up Van Gogh (1975/15,402gt) at auction for US$7.5 million. The 800-passenger vessel, which is being renamed Salamis Filoxenia (Greek for hospitality) will replace the smaller and older Salamis Glory (1962/10,392gt) on mostly short cruises from Limassol to ports in the Eastern Mediterranean.
