The small cargo Ship FP-344 was built for the US Army in 1944 as one of more than 100 similar 177ft transports to support US forces around the world. Although retired from service in 1954, in 1966 she was reactivated and transferred to the US Navy, and became the environmental research vessel USS Pueblo (AGER-2).
