Damoskibsselskabet nordenrnhas announced the sale of six bulk carriers at a profit of $13 million. The six ships comprise two Panamax bulk carriers and four Handymaxes, sold for a total of $175 million. During the latter part of 2007 the company disposed of about 100 dry-cargo ships that were mainly on short-term charters due to the decline in the market. Norden currently has a fleet of 50 dry-cargo ships and 27 tankers, either owned or on long-term charters, as well as another 58 dry-cargo vessels and tankers all operated on short term contracts. Meanwhile, COSCO has agreed with Goldenport Holdings of Greece to delay the delivery of four Supramax bulk carriers, and the 57,000dwt vessels, ordered in 2007 for $151 million, are now to enter service in 2010 and 2011. COSCO has three more 80,000dwt bulk carriers that have been delayed by an undisclosed customer.
