THE NUMBER OF BEEF cows in Ontario has dropped in the past 12 months according to the Canadian Cattlemen's Association (CCA). Andrea Brocklebank, research manager with the CCA, made this announcement as part of her beef market review at the recent CCATown Hall Meeting in Chesley. "Ontario beef farmers are not doing a lot to expand the provincial herd right now. We're just not hitting levels of expansion," she said.
