Clan Liners remembered

In his letter. Bill Farrell (see SM, Nov 2010) is mistaken in saying that he worked on Clan Macrae, which was fitting out at John Brown's yard in 1962. The last Clan Macrae in the Clan Line fleet was a wartime standard ship built in 1942 by Creenock Dockyard as Empire Might. She was purchased by Clan Line in 1946 and served in their fleet until 1959, when she was transferred to associated company Bullard & King as Umgeni.
