Theseus deployed from the UK to replace HMS Triumph, and operated in theatre from 18 August 1950 until 19 April 1951. Her air group, which comprised Sea Fury FB.ll fighter bombers from 807 Naval Air Squadron (NAS) and Firefly AS.5 antisubmarine/ reconnaissance aircraft from 810 NAS, were augmented by a Sea Otter amphibious flying boat for air/ sea rescue (ASR) duties. Together with US aircraft carriers, including Badoeng Strait(CVE-116), Sicily (CVE-118)and Bataan (CVL-29), she formed part of TG 95.11 operating off the west coast of Korea in the Yellow Sea.
