The Chief Engineer on board Marco Polo is George Katsifarakis, who is originally from Crete, and who has been working on cruise ships for many years. He has been Chief Engineer for 11 years and at sea for 32 years. He served with ANEK ferries for 17 years after two years with Holland America Line. He later worked for Louis Cruise Lines, spending ten years with them, eight of which were on board Thomson Spirit. He has been working on Marco Polo for a year.
