Nelson's flagship, HMS Victory, is to benefit from an additional £5 million in Government funding. Culture Secretary Maria Miller announced that the money has been awarded to the National Museum of the Royal Navy as part of the Catalyst Endowment initiative, and it will be used to help secure the long-term future of HMS Victory, the Royal Navy's oldest commissioned warship, which is based at the Historic Dockyard, Portsmouth. It is estimated at least £50 million needs to be spent on HMS Victory over the next 15 years to ensure her continued survival.
