Arctech launched the ice-breaking multipurpose emergency and rescue vessel Baltika for the Russian Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport on 12 December 2013 at Helsinki Shipyard. The vessel is to be operated by FGI Gosmorspassluzhba (Russian Marine Emergency Rescue Service) and will be used in ice-breaking and rescue work in the Gulf of Finland. The vessel incorporates new types of innovative technology and features an asymmetric hull, patented oblique design and three 360-degree rotating propulsors, which allow the vessel to operate efficiently sideways, astern and ahead.
