Dutch offshore services company Rederij Groen has taken delivery of 7-Waves (pictured), the second of three identical Seismic Research Support Vessels. Their major role is to ensure that other shipping, mainly fishing ships, keeps away from seismic survey vessels engaged in offshore exploration: so, literally, to chase them off. The first of the series, 7-Oceans, was delivered by Maaskant Shipyards in July 2014.7-Waves and the third sister vessel are due to enter service in January 2015.
