While the majority of the world's shiprepair yards are suffering from slow market conditions, Malta Drydocks has been undergoing a fairly busy period. The yard ended last year with a changed attitude, which has resulted in a great improvement in its reputation for on-time deliveries and acceptable standards. According to Malta Drydocks' chief executive Barry Johnson: "We have changed a few systems at the yard, especially with regard to safety and production operations, and the result is that owners are now leaving the yard with a very good understanding of what we are trying to achieve. We are much more customer-orientated, also involving the workforce with the customers."
