Trials of portable BWT system go ahead

Trials of a portable ballast water treatment system housed in a 20ft container, known as the Seaforth BWTS, are being carried out by Ballast Water Containers (BWC), a company recently set up by the Glasgow-based Malm Group. Designed for barge owners and the heavy lift and logistics industries, the Seaforth BWTS works with existing barge ballasting operations by treating sea-going ballast intake or discharge using a mobile deck-mounted solution.
